From great music during "Pickin' on the Square" to some of the finest street festivals in the southeast, you'll discover great family entertainment and fun in every season. Best of all, these events are free.
Franklin, NC is in the center of it all in western North Carolina. We're just over two hours from Atlanta, Georgia, Greenville, SC and Knoxville, TN. Asheville, NC is 1.25 hours to our east.

Call for bands & food VendorsPickin' on the Square 2025!
The Town of Franklin is seeking applications from area bands interested in performing for the Pickin’ on the Square 2025.
This is a paid performance opportunity and all submissions will be considered for inclusion in the event. The deadline to apply is March 14, 2025. Bands selected will be contacted after April 1, 2025.

Pickin' on the Square 2025!Dates Announced
For over three decades the Town of Franklin, NC has hosted this FREE event at the Gazebo on the Square in Downtown Franklin from mid-May through mid-October.
Pickin' on the Square 2025! will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from May 10 to October 11, 2025 at the Gazebo on the Square in Downtown Franklin.

2024 Pumpkin Roll Winner!Neal Cosmo & Son James
Congratulations to Neal Cosmo and son James (from Franklin) on winning the 2024 "World Famous Pumpkin Roll" during the 28th Annual PumpkinFest! Neal's pumpkin (entry #527) rolled 915 feet!! He and James take home bragging rights for being the 2024 Pumpkin Roll Champion, a super cool trophy and $100 cash! More than 700 people participated in today's event sponsored by Crabtree General Store & Coffee Vault.
